Products and Services

Q: What types of products do you offer?
A: We specialize in high-quality meats, including beef, pork, lamb, chicken, and specialty cuts. We also offer marinated products, sausages, and other custom options. Additionally, we provide convenient meat packages for bulk purchases.

Q: Is your facility inspected by regulatory bodies?
A: Yes, we are proud to operate as a dual-inspected facility under both USDA and FDA regulations. This ensures that we meet the highest standards for food safety, quality, and compliance in the industry.

Q: How and where are your products sourced?
A: All our products are sourced exclusively from USDA-inspected processing facilities. These facilities adhere to strict federal guidelines to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

Q: Do you carry organic or grass-fed meat?
A: We do not offer grass-fed meat, but we provide grass-finished meat. All our meat is steroid and hormone-free. Antibiotics may be used to treat sick animals, but only with a proper weaning-off period to ensure safety and quality. Please call or visit us for more details.

Q: Can you process custom orders?
A: We do not offer custom orders for the general public. Custom cutting is only available for wholesale or commercial clients. All incoming meat products must be sourced by us or a USDA-inspected processing plant or slaughterhouse. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs.

Q: Do you sell bulk meat packages?
A: Yes, we offer bulk packages at competitive prices. Visit our Meat Pack Collection page for the best daily pricing and the best deals when you buy in large quantities. You can also stop by our store for more details.

Q: Why are your products frozen?
A: Freezing our products ensures maximum freshness, safety, and quality. According to USDA guidelines, freezing meat significantly slows down the growth of bacteria and helps maintain its nutritional value. This is especially important for perishable items like raw pet food and meat products.

Q: Do you sell fat, trimmings, or bone fragments?
A: Unfortunately, we do not sell fat, trimmings, or bone fragments due to USDA and California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) regulations. These regulations require strict controls on the handling and sale of meat byproducts to ensure food safety and quality. We appreciate your understanding.

Q: What should I do if the weight on the package doesn’t match my scale at home?
A: Our scales are extremely sensitive and calibrated annually by the Sacramento County Department of Weights and Measures to ensure the highest accuracy. Home scales that are not calibrated or verified by a regulatory body may not provide accurate readings. If you believe there is an issue, please keep the product frozen and unopened and bring it back to the store. We will verify the weight on our certified scales to address your concern.

Q: Can I place an order over the phone?
A: Phone orders are available only for wholesale or commercial clients. Retail customers are encouraged to place orders either in-store or online for convenience.

Shipping and Delivery

Q: Do you offer delivery services?
A: At this time, we do not provide direct delivery services for the general public. However, many of our products are available through DoorDash if your location falls within their delivery radius. Please note that delivery availability depends on DoorDash’s driver network and radius, which are beyond our control. We strive to make our products accessible and convenient for you through this platform.

Q: Do you ship nationwide?
A: Currently, we ship within California only. There are some exceptions such a referral from an in-network pet breeder to ensure that the animals are able to continue their raw diet once they find their fur-ever home. However, we are exploring options to expand our shipping services. Stay tuned for updates!

Q: What are your shipping costs?
A: Shipping costs vary depending on the weight and destination of the order. For example, shipping a 45-lb box via Ground typically costs $45-$50. Faster shipping options are available, and the cost will be provided at checkout. As a small company, we offer shipping at cost and do not profit from shipping fees.

Q: How do you ensure the meat stays fresh during shipping?
A: We use insulated packaging and dry ice to ensure your meat stays fresh during transit. Additionally, many products are now packaged in an extra cardboard box to protect against freezer burn caused by the dry ice.

Payment, Cancellation, and Return Policies

Q: What are your policies on refunds, exchanges, and cancellations?
A: Due to the perishable nature of our products, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds or exchanges. If a customer cancels an online order, there will be a mandatory 15% restocking fee. This measure is in place to help us maintain low prices. No exceptions to this policy will be made.

Raw Pet Food

Q: What raw pet food options do you offer?
A: We offer a variety of raw pet food blends designed to meet your pet's nutritional needs. Our blends include high-quality meats, organ mixes, and ground bone for optimal health. You can mix and match blends to create the perfect diet for your pet.

Q: Are your raw pet food products USDA-inspected?
A: Raw pet food products themselves are not USDA-inspected. Our raw pet food is inspected by the FDA and the CDFA. However, all of the raw materials used to produce our raw pet food come from USDA-inspected sources to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.

Q: Do you grind bone in your raw pet food blends?
A: Yes, our raw pet food blends include ground bone, which is an essential source of calcium and other nutrients for your pet. We use a coarse grind on the meat and bone to provide optimal texture and nutritional value. Please note that we do not use powdered bone meal in our blends.

Q: Can you grind bone for customers or package in bulk or retail packaging?
A: Unfortunately, we do not offer bone grinding or custom packaging services for the general public due to USDA and California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) regulations. These regulations require specialized equipment, strict sanitation practices, and compliance with rigorous food safety standards to ensure the safety and quality of all products.

Q: Can I cook the raw pet food?
A: No, we do not recommend cooking our raw pet food. Exposing the bone fragments in the blends to heat can cause them to splinter and become sharp, which can be dangerous for your pet. If you want to warm up the food, we suggest pouring boiling water or boiling broth over the mix instead.

Q: Can I feed raw pet food to puppies or senior pets?
A: Yes, raw diets can be beneficial for pets of all ages. However, puppies and senior pets may have specific dietary needs, so consult your veterinarian to ensure a balanced diet.

Q: How much raw pet food should I feed my pet?
A: Feeding amounts depend on your pet's age, weight, and activity level. As a general guideline, feed 2-3% of your pet's body weight daily, divided into two meals. Consult with your veterinarian for specific dietary recommendations.

Q: How should I store raw pet food?
A: Raw pet food should be stored in a freezer at or below 0°F (-18°C). Once thawed, keep it in the refrigerator and use it within 2-3 days.

Q: What precautions should I take when handling raw pet food?
A: Always wash your hands, utensils, and surfaces thoroughly after handling raw pet food to prevent cross-contamination. Use separate bowls and utensils for your pet's food.

Q: How can I quickly and safely defrost frozen products?
A: The safest way to defrost frozen products is in the refrigerator, which takes several hours to overnight. For faster defrosting, you can submerge the sealed product in cold water, changing the water every 30 minutes. Avoid using hot water or leaving products at room temperature, as this can promote bacterial growth.
